<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=309332419-19102004>As elections near,
it is becoming quite evident that Timothy's Law is a hot topic around the
state. Some of you may have seen the issue surface in discussions in your
area. For instance, we know it has been included in Senator Breslin's
campaign mailers in Albany, and both Senator Libous and his opponent, Eugene
Burns have been discussing the topic in the Southern Tier.

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=309332419-19102004>If Timothy's Law has
not been included in local election discussions, it is not to late to make sure
they do talk about it. If your local League of Women Voters is hosting a
debate, try to attend. Often times they will accept questions from the
audience. This is no place to be shy, follow the procedure outlined by the
debate hosts and make sure Timothy's Law is discussed. You can also ask
candidates themselves at events where they are present. Raise the issue
wherever you can. If you would like to see where your candidate stands on
Timothy's Law, the issue of parity was included in a recent candidate survey by
the Mental Health Voter Empowerment Project, which can be accessed at <A
