The New York State Office for New Americans invites you to a webinar featuring Dr. Jerel Ezell, Assistant Professor in General Internal Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and Director of the Cornell Center for Cultural Humility.

Join this webinar:

  *   To understand the challenges facing immigrant-serving organizations
  *   To understand what trauma-informed practice (TIP) and cultural humility with immigrant populations means
  *   To understand the key evidence-based ways to engage immigrant populations through trauma-informed, culturally humble approaches

The New York State Office of Mental Health will also speak about their Trauma Informed Network and Resource Center, which offers training, instructional materials, and other resources to professionals working with a wide range of populations on best implementing trauma-informed treatment and practices.

About the Presenter

Dr. Jerel Ezell is a social epidemiologist and assistant professor in General Internal Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and a Fulbright Scholar. Dr. Ezell also serves as the Director of the Cornell Center for Cultural Humility, a multi-disciplinary training center focused on education around cultural responsiveness in research, clinical practice, education, and policy with underserved populations, including immigrant communities. His research, teaching, and practice focus on enhancing technical and emotional support for professionals who work with minority populations that are experiencing health and social disparities.
