[NYAPRS Enews] DSRIP Review Panel Underscores Need for CBO Investments

New York's DSRIP Project Approval and Oversight Panel met yesterday to hear progress reports from downstate Performing Provider System (PPS) leads. Today's Crain's Health Pulse indicates panelists and audience members emphasized the need for greater investment in community non-profits, adding that "while the panel praised such examples of CBO participation, questions remained about how much DSRIP money will funnel down to these organizations. Lara Kassel, coalition coordinator for Medicaid Matters NY, asked whether the CBOs themselves would vouch that they've been included. "When you say 'involvement,' I do hope that the CBOs themselves have the same sense of involvement," she said."

NYAPRS has been pushing heavily for greater and meaningful PPS investments in community behavioral healthcare providers, especially through our advocacy on the state Value Based Payment work groups and with the Department of Health.

This issue will also be a major them at NYAPRS/MCTAC's conference next week in Saratoga Springs entitled "Value-Based Payment, Partners and Propositions" that will feature a Friday morning panel on "Behavioral Health - A Keystone of Success in DSRIP" that will include
