CSH is pleased to present our latest report, Integrating Housing in State Medicaid Reform,<http://csh.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d477f3e2e075003c9d2f335a3&id=d46b44b81a&e=985f5a6d2f> an overview of state efforts to finance, through Medicaid, the services that supportive housing residents need to achieve both housing and health stability. Supportive housing is a proven intervention that stabilizes people with chronic primary and/or behavioral health conditions and housing instability or homelessness. Not only do residents achieve better health outcomes but studies show that supportive housing reduces health system costs. States recognize the effectiveness of supportive housing and many are exploring ways to better utilize Medicaid financing for housing-based services and supports.

In this report, we provide summaries of how Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, the City of Philadelphia, Rhode Island, Texas and Washington are exploring ways to add housing services as Medicaid reimbursable services for supportive housing populations. The Medicaid mechanisms and health care networks highlighted include:

  *   Health Homes
  *   Accountable Care Organizations
  *   1115 waivers
  *   Home and Community-Based Services, and
  *   Partnerships between managed care entities and supportive housing service providers.
