ACMHA: The College for Behavioral Health Leadership and Magellan Health
Services invite you to attend the next webinar in its series featuring
national topics and speakers in the public sector behavioral health
arena.

On July 28, Eric N Goplerud, PhD, and Brie Reimann, MPA will present
Screening & Brief Intervention: Improving Health, Changing Lives.

Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is a public
health approach to identify risky substance use, provide education and
prevent the onset of addiction. Methods used to address substance use
are often focused on treating the dependent user in need of specialized
treatment, while little is done to address at-risk use. Methods
including universal screening and brief intervention techniques using
Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy skills can
lead to healthier outcomes for individuals.

At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

*	Discuss evidence that supports Screening and Brief Intervention
for tobacco and alcohol use.
*	Identify core components of Screening and Brief Intervention
practice.
*	Explain needs assessment to determine readiness to implement
Screening and Brief Intervention.
*	Review solutions to commonly perceived barriers to
implementation.

The webinar is from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. EDT. Registration is free to ACMHA
members and is available online here
