What is the role of the Peer Facilitator?

WE Can Work/We Can Save Peer Facilitators are volunteers with a personal
experience of mental health recovery and employment. We build hope and
inspire others to go back to work, share our experience of overcoming
unemployment and using services, share information about work incentives
and rights in the workplace, provide support, and help others develop
new social connections. We are trained to lead forums and workshops, and
in time develop the skills to facilitate peer support groups.
Facilitators make a commitment to conduct at least one campaign activity
every 3 months. In some cases we have a sponsoring organization, which
enables us to dedicate time to the campaign as a formal part of our job.
The Campaign provides training, mentoring, and access to DVDs, printed
and online materials free of cost.

How can I apply to become a Peer Facilitator?

Send your Peer Facilitator Application by August 20th 2010 (North
Country deadline). The Campaign will select individuals with a hopeful
vision about employment and recovery, and strong commitment to carry on
"We Can Work"/"We Can Save" activities.

The We Can Work/We Can Save Peer Facilitator Core Training for the North
Country will take place on August 31st and September 1st, 2010 in
