And Business Management for Peer-Run Organizations

NCSTAC is pleased to announce the next Webinar in our series of

become successful, sustainable organizations. We have added this module
to our existing schedule as part of our goal to present pertinent,
useful information to the community. On May 7 at 2:30 EST to 4:00 we
will present the new webinar on Effective Strategic Planning.

We will also host additional webinars using leading peer authorities on:

* Management: The Role of the Staff,

*         Fundraising and Capacity Building

* Sustaining Your Consumer-Run Nonprofit Organization

These webinars will be presented live via teleconference and web
interface. These 90 minute modules will provide ample time for
questions and discussion.

The Strategic Planning course will be presented by Steve Harrington:
Steve brings to the table years of training experience with large and
small organizations and companies. Before he was diagnosed with two
mental illnesses, Steve Harrington performed strategic planning for
Fortune 500 companies and state and local governments. But his interest
in helping organizations never waned as he embarked on his recovery
journey.

Today, Steve performs strategic planning primarily for mental health
organizations across the country. Using processes based on open, honest
communication among a wide variety of stakeholders, he says his greatest
reward is when he sees formerly isolated, narrow-thinking organizations
develop collaborative relationships. According to Steve, "If
organizations accept constant change as a means not just for survival
but also growth, creativity and better services result,"

Steve is the executive director of the National Association of Peer
Specialists and serves on the board of directors of several other
national mental health organizations. He earned a bachelor of science
degree in wildlife biology from Michigan State University, a masters' of
public administration degree from Grand Valley State University and a
juris doctor degree from Cooley Law School.

Steve has worked as a teacher, rancher, newspaper reporter and editor,
consultant and, one summer, spent five months drifting 1,700 miles down
the Mississippi River on a log raft. He says he is still trying to
decide what he wants to be when he grows up.

Please contact Patrick Hendry at the Email address listed below to
