POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Recipient Affairs Specialist

Salary Range: $47,860 - $59,362

Salary Grade 18

 

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Recipient Affairs Specialist to work at OMH Western NY Field Office.

 

FUNCTION AND SCOPE

The Recipient Affairs Specialist for the OMH Field Office is responsible for promoting awareness of recovery, self help and empowerment and promoting the inclusion of people who are current and former users of mental health services into all areas of the mental health system. Travel within New York State is required to carry out job duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of five years extraordinary documented accomplishments within the consumer/survivor movement, self help and or advocacy. Candidate must be a current or former recipient of mental health services and publicly identify as such. Candidate must also have a clean, valid NYS Driver’s License.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

·         Promoting the inclusion of people who are current and former users of mental health services into all aspects of mental health services through focus groups, town meetings, work groups & dialogues (as the need arises).

·         Working as part of a team to provide technical assistance to recipient-run groups and serving as a liaison between people who use mental health programs and state & local mental health agencies.

·         Promoting awareness of recovery, self-help & empowerment by disseminating relevant information to recipients, providers, family members, county government and the general public.

·         Promoting awareness of mental health service initiatives through provider and consumer training and assistance.

·         Participate in policy development activities and policy analysis.

 

Locations:OMH Western New York Field Office located in Buffalo, NY.

Salary: Commensurate with Experience
