Below is a CRITICAL ALERT THAT NEEDS US. I know people are busy but for
CCA to be included in healthcare reform is IMPORTANT! So please take
five minutes and make the call. All of the call-in information and
script is in RED. Please let me know if you have any questions and when
you complete it. Our voices need to be heard TODAY!

This week, the US Senate is making critical decisions about reforming
America's health care system. They may choose not to address long-term
services and supports in their legislation. Even if they do, some of the
options they are considering do very little to meet the needs of people
who are likely to be placed in an institution. If we do not act now, we
may have healthcare "reform" which leaves the institutional bias

Organizations across the country are hosting a national call-in day
today. Please join thousands of others across the country in calling
your Senators to tell them how important it is to include the Community
Choice Act and long-term services and supports in health care reform.

Every call makes a difference!
Call-In Information
When: TODAY, Wednesday, May 13 (Between 8AM and 6PM EDT)
Call-In Number: 1-866-459-9232 (Toll Free)
You will be asked which state you are calling from and will be connected
to your Senators' offices (Schumer & Gillibrand). Below is a sample
script to leave a message.

"Hello. My name is _________ and I'm calling from New York to ask the
Senator to help make sure the Community Choice Act and long-term
services and supports are part of health care reform. Long-term services
and supports are essential to the health, well-being, and community
participation of individuals with disabilities and seniors. We must
address the institutional bias and give people a REAL CHOICE. Please
ensure that the Community Choice Act and long-term services and supports
are included in legislation to reform health care.

Thank you."
You will have to call for each senator. If the number is busy, PLEASE
try again! Keep trying until you get someone!
After you call, FORWARD this email to as many people as possible and ask
that they call as well.
Thank you!
Together, we will FREE OUR PEOPLE!
