New CHCS Reports Profile Medicaid Best Buys for High-Need, High-Cost
Patients

Center for Health Care Strategies March 27, 2008

A small portion of Medicaid beneficiaries -- about 15 percent -- account
for more than 75 percent of program expenditures. Two new Center for
Health Care Strategies (CHCS) publications focus on opportunities for
states to improve care and control costs for these high-need
beneficiaries. The programs outlined in these documents are particularly
relevant today with many states facing widening budget shortfalls.
