NYAPRS Note: Recently, the Obama-Biden Transition team put out a public
announcement that since "health care is a top priority for
President-elect Obama and for Senator Tom Daschle, Secretary-designate
for Health and Human Services (HHS)," they were asking for Americans to
give them the "gift of your ideas and input" during the holiday season"
because "they both are committed to health care reform that comes from
the ground up."  NYAPRS is supporting an upcoming forum in Schenectady
that will give preferential seating for people who live or work in
Schenectady County but will be open to all.

 

Health and Mental Health Care In the Obama-Biden Administration: 

A Forum for the Citizens of Schenectady County to express their
Viewpoints and Ideas 

 

When: Tuesday, December, 30, 2008, 6:45 PM to 9:PM 

 

Where: Schenectady County Public Library, McChesney Rm. (99 Clinton St.,
and Liberty, seating is limited). 

 

Why: President-Elect Obama, Vice-President- Elect Biden & Senator Tom
Daschle, nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services, have
invited citizens' advice nationally--the direct voices of those who are
struggling through these extremely difficult times, both with precarious
health conditions, and woefully inadequate, mismanaged and outrageously
expensive health and mental health care. If you live and/or work in
Schenectady County please come and make your voice heard. 

 

Cost: FREE 

 

What: A discussion of health and mental health problems, self-care and
the man-agement of chronic disease/ chronic wellness, from the
perspective that we each have one body, mind, set of emotions and soul
and we need each other as a community. 

 

Agenda: 6:45-7:10-mingling and enjoying healthy refreshments.
