NYAPRS Note: NYAPRS is very pleased to pass on the following
announcement that was released yesterday by OMH Commissioner Hogan.
Bruce Feig was an integral part of an OMH under then-Commissioner
Richard Surles (in the late 1980's and early 1990's) that was one of the
nation's finest and that made historic advances in promoting the
recovery, rehabilitation and community integration of New Yorkers with
psychiatric disabilities. With his appointment and the recent one of
former NYC Mental Health Commissioner Dr. Lloyd Sederer as OMH Medical
Director, Commissioner Hogan is assembling a very experienced and
talented leadership team. Stay tuned for more appointments as they are
made public.

Health

DATE: May 22, 2007

SUBJECT: Appointment of Bruce Feig

I am pleased to announce that Bruce E. Feig will rejoin the Office of
Mental Health as Executive Deputy Commissioner effective June 11, 2007.

In this role, Bruce will serve as Chief Operating Officer, responsible
for day-to-day operational management of core OMH programs.

Bruce has extensive knowledge of the New York State Mental Health
system, having served as the Executive Deputy Commissioner of OMH from

1985 - 1995. He has also enjoyed a distinguished career in public
service beyond OMH, serving as First Deputy Comptroller for the Office

working with you, the staff at OMH and the many stakeholders in the

with mental illness in New York State."

Please join me in welcoming Bruce back to the Office of Mental Health.
